Thinking about expanding into Southeast Asia? Hiring through an employer of record in Thailand can be the quickest route. The country sits at the heart of ASEAN, with modern infrastructure and a labor force of 42.16 million people (Q2 2026), according to the BOI.
In this update, I compare the top EOR providers Thailand offers in 2 lists: 10 Thai firms and 10 global platforms.
Compliance here is manageable but specific. You deal with Social Security Fund contributions, provincial minimum wages and strict work permit rules for foreign hires. That is where EOR Thailand services earn their fee.
INSIGHT: How much do employers pay on top of salary in Thailand?
Thailand’s statutory payroll cost is low and capped, but it rose in 2026 for the first time in nearly 20 years. Severance obligations are also significant.
- Social Security Fund: 5% from each side on wages up to THB 17,500, capped at THB 875 per side (THB 750 before 2026).
- Workmen’s Compensation Fund: 0.2% to 1% from the employer, depending on the industry.
- Minimum wage: THB 337 to THB 400 per day by province, with THB 400 in Bangkok.
- Severance: up to 400 days’ wages, depending on length of service.

How Does an Employer of Record Work in Thailand?
With an EOR in Thailand, the provider’s own Thai company signs the employment contract. It then enrolls each hire with the Social Security Office.
It runs payroll in THB and withholds personal income tax each month under the Revenue Department’s progressive rates of 0% to 35%.
It also applies the Labor Protection Act, including 120 days of maternity leave since December 2025.
For foreign hires, the provider sponsors the Non-Immigrant B visa and the work permit. Assigning tasks and reviewing results remain your job.
That sponsorship is what new entrants value most. A standard Thai company generally needs 4 Thai employees and THB 2 million in registered capital for each foreign worker. An EOR already meets those tests.
INSIGHT: Why do foreign companies use an EOR to hire in Thailand?
Hiring foreign staff through your own Thai company carries headcount and capital requirements that a new entrant rarely meets on day one.
- An ordinary Thai company generally needs 4 Thai employees for each work permit it holds for a foreign worker.
- It also needs THB 2 million in registered capital per foreign worker.
- BOI-promoted companies and some other cases follow different rules, so check the route before choosing between an EOR and an entity.

What Is the Best Employer of Record for Thailand?
I don’t name a single best employer of record in Thailand, because the right fit depends on who you hire.
For local recruiting, visa handling and Thai-language support, the best EOR services in Thailand usually come from Thai firms.
If you hire in several countries, the best employer of record Thailand option is often a global platform you already use elsewhere.
My guide to the best Employer of Record solution across markets covers that second group in more depth. Below, Thai firms come first, then global platforms.

EOR Pricing in Thailand
Think of the provider fee as the last layer, after gross salary and the capped statutory contributions. Social security costs up to THB 875 per month per side, and the Workmen’s Compensation Fund adds 0.2% to 1%.
Thai firms often price in THB or as a share of salary, while global platforms quote a flat USD or EUR fee.
| Provider | Section | Published starting EOR fee |
|---|---|---|
| Acclime Thailand | Local | $400 per month (local staff); $650 (expats) |
| Reliance Consulting | Local | THB 18,000 per month for local staff (approx. $540), or 15% of salary |
| Union Space | Local | 12% of monthly salary |
| VB & Partners | Local | THB 15,000 per month (approx. $450) |

FAQs About Thailand EOR
Why should companies use an EOR to hire employees in Thailand?
It lets you hire without registering a Thai company, which takes time and capital. It also solves the work permit problem. A standard Thai company generally needs 4 Thai employees and THB 2 million in registered capital per foreign worker. I see it as the lowest-risk way to test the market.
How much do EOR services typically cost in Thailand?
Among platforms with public prices, monthly fees per employee go from €99 (Native Teams) up to $699 (Remote). Thai firms that publish prices start at about THB 15,000 to THB 18,000 a month or charge 12% to 15% of salary. Salary, social security of up to THB 875 per side and the Workmen’s Compensation premium come on top.
What are the benefits of choosing a Thailand-based EOR over a global provider?
Thai firms usually know provincial wage rules, Thai-language HR and local immigration offices closely. Many also handle visas, accounting and company registration in-house. In my experience, that makes them faster when a foreign hire needs a Non-B visa.
What types of companies benefit most from using an EOR in Thailand?
Small teams testing the market benefit most, along with firms hiring foreign specialists before they can meet work permit ratios. Larger companies also use an EOR for project staff or while they register their own Thai entity.
What should you look for when choosing an EOR provider in Thailand?
Check that the provider sponsors work permits and Non-B visas itself and registers every employee with the Social Security Fund from day one. Ask for a cost sheet that separates its fee from salary and statutory contributions. I also ask how it handles terminations, since severance can reach 400 days’ wages.
Are there any risks to using an EOR service in Thailand?
Severance is the biggest cost risk, rising with service up to 400 days’ wages, so agree in advance who pays it. A work permit ties a foreign employee to the sponsoring employer, which complicates a later move to your own entity. Disputes can still happen, so read the service agreement closely.
